Hosted Platform Considerations :
Use of the MSWord deliverable templates requires installation of a "Global Deliverable Template Mini Engine" on your laptop. The deliverable template engine is needed for the deliverable templates to execute properly. It provides a number of time saving template features such as mass changes, automatic insertion of formatted tables, automatic insertion of offset paragraphs with special icons, and automatic removal of yellow notes.
Note: If you have downloaded and installed PJM on your desktop, the Global Deliverable Template Mini Engine is already installed locally and you do not need to download and install this file.
- To access the Global Deliverable Template Mini Engine Installation file:
- From your iProjects Workspace A:
- Navigate to the "Solution Guidelines, Templates and Tools" folder.
- Select the "Global Deliverable Template Mini Engine Installation File".
- From the Method Knowledge Area on GlobalXchange:
- Navigate to the "Project Management Methods" page.
- Navigate to the "PJM" page.
- Select the "Download Method and Estimating Pack" page.
- Select the "Global Deliverable Template Mini Engine Installation File".
- Download the "Global Deliverable Template Mini Engine Installation File" to a temporary folder on your laptop. NOTE: The MSOffice 97 version of the Deliverable Template Engine is compatible with MSOffice 2000 by adjusting the security level in MSWord.
- Double-click on the "Global Deliverable Template Mini Engine Installation File" to install the deliverable template engine
Note: The mini-engine installation will create the Method/Om30 directory structure on your c: drive and will create the appropriate folder structure to house the OMGUIDE.dot template file for this service offering.
Important: The OMGUIDE.dot file is necessary for the deliverable templates to execute properly. |

Known Problems :
The following is a list of known problems you may encounter when
using PJM. Additionally you can check for patches and/or updates to
your existing installation of PJM by simply going to the home page
of the method, and clicking on the "Method Navigation" list box, and
selecting "Method Updates (Hosted Link)" option.
(Note: this selection does require an internet
connection.)
- MICROSOFT WORD DELIVERABLE TEMPLATE READ-ONLY
WARNING...Microsoft Word deliverable templates are defined for
read-only access in order to prevent you from accidentally making
changes to the base deliverable template files. Use the
"File"+"Save As" option to save a copy of the deliverable template
to a directory on your computer other than under C:\METHOD.
Note: You will see a Microsoft read-only
warning, if you choose to "Save" the Microsoft Word deliverable
template rather than "Save As".
- NETSCAPE USERS MAY NEED TO MODIFY PREFERENCES...While using PJM 2.6.1 you may encounter a Netscape message asking you
whether you want to open a file or save the file to disk. You
should select "Open it", and de-select the "ask me before
opening..." checkbox.
